Moving Tips from GCCA to Insure a Smooth Move
Moving is a stressful period for both individuals and families. That is why good preparation for your move is necessary. We at Gosselin GCCA can help you with all the steps to plan a smooth, worry-free move, since we have specialized in international moves to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for many years.
Paperwork - attend to it early
For some countries you may need to fill out a lot of paperwork such as customs forms, passports and visas, insurance list, etc. Make sure that you do this as soon as possible, even when the packing date is weeks away. Good documentation is important, and it will affect the entire moving experience. By starting early when you are not hurried, you will have time to fill them out correctly and you can review the documents with our experienced moving coordinators.
Collect personal items you will need
Make sure that you make a list of the personal items that are particularly important to you, items that definitely need to go with an earlier air shipment or items that need special packing. Put them on a list or collect them in a separate room or box as you think of them. Don’t wait until the day before.
Correct, complete contact information
Make sure that your moving coordinator has ALL the correct contact telephone numbers at both the departing and destination sites, as well as any during transit. This will be most important at the destination. The sooner our colleagues can contact you to arrange delivery, the better.
Keep your personal documentation
Make sure that you have your personal documents with you at all time, so they will not mistakenly get packed into the boxes that are going to be placed into the van or container.
